Silhouette Cameo!!!

It's here!!  My cameo finally made it's way to my front door!  Here are some of the projects that I've been working on with my Cameo!  Keep in mind I've NEVER worked with Vinyl before! There was definitely a learning curve...(see the "of the" on my Inn Crowd project and you'll see what I mean!  haha)

Picture Frame Fun

I always admire crafters who can take picture frames and make them into something creative and wonderful!  Like this adorable Christmas door hanger (not to mention the adorable paper mache ornaments!) by Blue Cricket Design:

"Are you part of the inn crowd" Possible Vinyl

I saw this on Facebook by Anne Call House.  This would make a great vinyl something or other!

Another Advent Calendar Update!

Today was my day off, hence all of the finishing of projects today!  This advent calendar is extremely easy and I found it to be a really fun project!  It was one of those projects that I worked on while watching TV or a movie.  Just relaxing and fun!  Here it is:

A big thanks to Makoodle for the tutorial!

Access Makoodle's printable numbers here.

Accent Gem Rings

Today on Pick Your Plum, the deal of the day was ring blanks.

This is another one of those crafty projects that I have seen around, but just haven't tried my hand at.  I was browsing around on pinterest to see what others had done with their ring blanks and realized that a lot of people put flowers on them like this:

Tile Coasters Project

So I previously posted that I've wanted to make some tile coasters of my very own!  I've heard about tile coasters for years now but have never done any.  Let me just say these can make really easy, cheap, and personalized gifts (wedding, christmas, anniversary)! I made 12 for under $2 a coaster.

Here is my completed set!

I LOVE the coasters made from family pictures.  Like these ones from Oopsey Daisy:

The possibilities are endless!  This was a really fun and relaxing project!

Cranberry Orange Bread

I work at a bakery...all day I make yummy goodness in the form of pies and baked goods.  I grew up making banana, zucchini, and pumpkin chocolate chip bread (and make them at work at least once a week), but I've never made cranberry orange bread!  That is until today!

Scrabble Tile Necklaces!

These look like so much fun to make!

The tutorial can be found on the Make and Takes website here.  I ordered all the pieces to make them from Pick Your Plum's cyber Monday deals, then headed to the store and bought all the supplies I'd need (except Diamond Glaze, anyone know where to get that??).  I can't wait to make these!!!  I thought this would make a fun project while all of the girls in my family are together over the Christmas Holidays!

AccuQuilt GO vs Sizzix Big Shot Pro

Do any of you have either of these machines??  And if you do, what do you think of them??  They are both on sale today..and I've had my eye on a fabric cutting machine for a couple years now.  I think now is the time to add one to my collection!

Magnetic Advent Calendar update

So here it is!  All I have to do is add a few staples and screws to the back and it will be DONE!!  I have to say this project took quite a few more man hours to finish then I thought it would, but I love it!!  All of the pieces fit in the numbered pockets, then each day a piece is added to the nativity scene!

Birdie Stitches

At the beginning of this year, I had never done a block-of-the-month project.  But then I saw Little Miss Shabby's "Birdie Stitches" and fell in love!

Year at a glance

This quilt by The Quilted Fish has been on my to-do list for about a year now (You can see the detail of the quilt better through the link). This would make a great block of the month project.  Going along with my advent calendar obsession, this one shows a year in a very creative way that I LOVE!

I have yet to buy fabric for it.  Too many projects not enough time....this one will be hanging on my wall soon though.

It's been a while...

More like almost two years since I did anything with this blog.  It used to be called "When You Can't Say it Better" and I was going to write about all of the amazing song lyrics I love.  But I decided to go more general and use this for whatever I want!  So here it is...The Idea Chest!

For me, down time = making something!!  Anything from yummy goodness, to quilts, to hand carving stamps.  If I can create it with my own two hands, I usually enjoy it.  So I'm going to share with you what my down time brings about!

Right now I'm working on a magnet board advent calendar for Christmas!  I started it last year, but it got away from me!  I just finished school for the quarter until January, so I have some extra free time to devote to finishing it!

The pattern is by Jenn Matthews.  You can get your pattern from Etsy here.
